Dressing the Part for Better STEM Education Outcomes

In our goal to support STEM education efforts, we came across an interesting study on the effects of dressing students in lab coats. Specifically, improvements were noted in

  • The students’ confidence in their ability to do science in class and
  • Their self-belief as to whether they could be scientists or aspire to science careers.

Certainly, I think this makes some sense. Such a step would not be a substitute for quality education and teachers.
